TOWNSHIP OF BLAIRSTOWN, AN APPALACHIAN TRAIL COMMUNITY
Nestled in the Great Appalachian Valley, the Township of Blairstown boasts a lovely pastoral landscape encompassing 31.704 sq. miles. Named after 19th Century railroad magnate and philanthropist, John Insley Blair, the town has a population of approximately 6,000 people and the distinction of being named the first Appalachian Trail Community in New Jersey.
Dedicated to education, Blairstown is served by several schools; Blairstown Elementary School with students in grades K-6, North Warren Regional High School with students in grades 7-12, Blair Academy (a private, co-ed boarding school) with students in grades 9-12, and Ridge and Valley Charter School with students in grades K-8.
